Carol Hitchman has practiced in Ontario since 1984. She has acted as counsel in many proceedings before the Ontario courts and the Federal Court of Canada. Ms. Hitchman has been involved in a number of intellectual property trials and appeals, along with numerous interlocutory injuction proceedings.
Ms. Hitchman is a registered Canadian Patent Agent and Trade-mark Agent. She is a Certified Specialist in Patent Law. She is also the Chair of the Litigation Committee for the Certification of Intellectual Property Specialists, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association Intellectual Property Public Awareness Committee.
She is a frequent speaker on Intellectual Property topics and was an instructor at the 1999 and 2000 tutorials for the Canadian Patent Agents' Exams. She is also a contributor to the Federated Press Bulletins on Intellectual Property.
Ms. Hitchman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 1979 and was called to the bar of Ontario in 1984. She was a partner in a large law firm in Toronto prior to forming this firm.
