Firm Overview
Hitchman & Sprigings is a leading firm in intellectual property
law. Our practice focuses on patent and trade-mark litigation,
with an emphasis on pharmaceuticals and the Patented
Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. In addition
to litigating matters relating to a variety of drugs (for
example Losec, Viagra and Valtrex), Hitchman & Sprigings has
experience in a number of other areas subject to intellectual
property (from chicken feed, to engineered plastic drainage
pipes, to sports cars). We can assist with copyright,
industrial design, and trade secret matters. Our lawyers are
also experienced with providing opinions on patent validity and
infringement, and the review and drafting of license
agreements. Hitchman & Sprigings has also been involved in
numerous matters under both the federal and Ontario access to
information statutes.
Our cases have included a Supreme Court patent case relating to
the drug AZT, leading trade-mark cases in the Federal Court of
Appeal relating to the appearance of pharmaceuticals, and cases
in the Ontario Court relating to trade libel. |
